[The message catches D33 off guard. It's true that he hasn't seen the girl in a few days, now - maybe some part of him had been considering that this could be the case. Even so, this might actually be the first time D33 has ever experienced someone he knows being Ported out, much less someone he cares about (whether he'll admit so or not).

[Either way, he responds promptly.]

I see.

[He's really not sure what else there is to say on the matter - nothing he'd be quite willing to say, anyway. He's certain to come up with some questions later on, but as for right now, he'll settle on this one:]

Are you alright? I suppose this must be difficult for you.

[More than supposes - there's really no question as to whether or not Kaneki cared for Nill. He may as well care for everyone.]

I'm alright. [ kaneki is always alright. He has a real hard time letting people go, accepting they are gone or seeing them being Ported out, but after he lost it a couple of times, kaneki learned he should hold back and not react to it ]

It has happened many times before, so this isn't new. [ Dee knows that, they have talked about it before ]

And you? How are you?

I am just fine, Kaneki.

Truly, I hardly knew the woman.

[That and he doesn't care. He doesn't care about anyone. Never mind the twisting in his stomach. He doesn't care. He doesn't.]

You've mentioned before that you yourself have been Ported out several times. Perhaps, in that case, she will return.

[ well - alright. That doesn't sound convincing at all and Kaneki remembers D33 was pretty friendly with her.

But well. Kaneki will not press on this subject ]

Yes, maybe. We will have to wait and see.

I suppose so.

[There's a bit of a pause.]

Will I see you tonight?

[He's not sure that he really even has to ask anymore, but...While he doesn't exactly want to talk about Nill, he doesn't particularly want to be left alone to dwell on this either. It would be really nice if he could actually sleep tonight (there might be a small part of him that wants to make sure that Kaneki is alright also).]

[ D33 has been spending a lot of time with Kaneki - they see each other everyday, and he ends up going back to kaneki's place often. of course ken doesn't mind, but isn't that sort of a bother to D33? After all, it's like he is living in two places at the same time, no? and wouldn't he get bored of Kaneki, eventually? ]

Of course, if you want to go to my place after I close the shop.

[ there is a pause, before kaneki's next message comes through ]

You can bring your things, if you'd like to spend the night.

[It's true - D33 and Kaneki have been spending a great deal of time together. It makes sense that Kaneki might think it would be a bother to D33 - typically, any amount of social interaction is. With Kaneki, however, it just simply hasn't been so. D33 doesn't think to question it - and when he does, he stops questioning it so he can go over to Kaneki's house and get some fucking sleep.]

Very well. I shall see you then.
